Winter Break

So which would be the most beneficial to our premier stars during this winter break, a get a way from the cold and wind to a nice sunny beach, or keeping the squad together for additional training/coaching.

We need to return immediately to sort out our tactics at the Etihad next Wednesday.

Well if the free kick routine we did against Brighton tells me we need more practice.

So we are the unfittest club in the premier league, last time I looked we had run the least amount of all the clubs in the league and we get a break of two weeks and he lets them have a week off.
Other clubs are away warm weather training, which is like a holiday but at least they have to run about a bit as well. but no the incompetent Moyes is giving them a week off, so their fitness can slip even more. Anyone else think he might be managing like this, always picking Lanzini, playing Sanchez at all, in a fit of spite as they let him go last time.
I mean come on, here we have two weeks to get a rocket up em improve fitness and stamina levels for the coming weeks and he just lets them bugger off for a week in the middle of a relegation fight. Fucking clueless dour cunt is taking us down.

Given the winter beak is for mental, not physical reasons I suspect a week away from the doom and gloom of being in a relegation battle will do them more good. Start again refreshed on Mnday

Is it not that we wouldn't have had two weeks off like everyone else and therefore could be perceived as unfair by our inspirational owners and hapless manager?

As only a small percentage of policng costs are picked up by football clubs (5% in London for example, https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/08/09/premier-league-clubs-must-pay-policing-says-london-mayor-sadiq/), it's the police authorities, who want to avoid the overtime costs, rather than the clubs.

With oil still at $54 a barrel, I can't see paying a hundred coppers time and a half for a few hours is going to worry the Emir of Dubai (or Qatar or Abu Dhabi, whichever one it is) too much.

Can someone explain to me if there's a logical reason why our proposed game against City couldn't have been played this coming weekend?
Even If you ignore the principle of playing in a winter break, which defeats the whole idea of a winter break, there would be mo time to arrange it, Especially the policing. Rather like a cup replay is always at least 8 days after the first match.
I did read some years ago, that if police forces don't give their officers at least 8 days notice of shift changes/extra shifts they have to be paid at the overtime rate. This is why cup replays switched some years ago, from the midweek after the first game, to the second midweek after the original game.
